Adapting a deck to a template
You already have the content. It just doesn’t look like your company’s slides — wrong fonts, odd colors, titles in different places.
PowerSlide can restyle your open deck to match a template (or another finished deck you attach), while leaving the wording alone.
How to do it
- Open the deck you want to fix in PowerPoint, with PowerSlide signed in.
- In the PowerSlide panel, attach your company template — a PowerPoint file (
.pptx). A brand-guidelines PDF helps too. - Ask clearly, for example:
“Make this deck match brand-template.pptx. Keep all the words. Only change fonts, colors, and layout.” - PowerSlide will summarize what it found (fonts, colors, and so on). Correct it if needed, then let it apply the changes.
- If one slide looks wrong, use Revert on that message and try a more specific ask.
A short, tidy template works better than a huge mixed archive of old decks.
The built-in skill Enforce brand and template is made for this job. See Working with skills if you’re new to skills.
Copying a specific layout
You can also borrow a slide design from another file:
- “Copy the executive summary layout from board.pptx slide 3 to the front of my deck.”
- “Insert slides 4–7 from q3.pptx after my slide 12, and restyle them to match my deck.”
Only PowerPoint files can be copied as slides. PDFs are useful as guidance, but PowerSlide can’t pull individual slides out of a PDF.
Use this every time
Attached files apply to the current conversation. If you want the same brand rules every day, write them into a custom skill (fonts, colors, title style, footer) and pin it. When you need an exact layout copied, still attach the template file.
Restyling doesn’t fix weak titles. For that, see Writing action titles. Company logos often need a quick manual replace — PowerSlide will point them out.
